Philippines, The Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) is a non-stock, not-for-profit national association of corporate directors and other stakeholders engaged in corporate governance in the Philippines. With a membership of over 500 directors and senior officers, the institute is recognized as a national and regional resource for corporate governance policy advocacy, fora for discussions and training of directors. It is the only entity in the Philippines that has been accredited as a corporate governance training body by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Insurance Commission, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Governance Commission for Government-Owned and -Controlled Corporations, and the Anti-Money Laundering Council. Since its establishment in 1999 by Chairman Emeritus Dr. Jesus P. Estanislao, ICD has established relations with key foreign entities involved in corporate governance such the OECD, the Asian Development Bank, the International Finance Corporation, and the ASEAN Capital Markets Forum. The institute also serves as the domestic ranking body of the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard which measures the adherence by publicly-listed companies to corporate governance best practices.
